HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
***CALL FOR SUBMISSION***
We are looking for work from video artists and filmmakers in cities all around the world – abstract, visually based, narrative, found footage, animation, etc. – of silent works of varying lengths. The only requirement is that the work portrays in some regard the experience of a city, or a series of cities – contemporarily, historically, visibly or invisibly.
We are looking for musicians and sound artists in and near BARCELONA to compose original scores – classical, electronic, jazz, metal, originally recorded field sounds, animal noises, sounds clips, dialogue, etc. – and the pieces will then be shown with a live accompaniment in the tradition of the early silent cinematic experience.
CITIES: The purpose is to connect international artists and the landscapes of different cities with a visceral sound and image experience – blurring boundaries of how we see space, urbanity, and the growing internationalization and globalization of visual and aural perception.
VIDEOKILLS, as an international collective with wide reaching artistic ambition, curated the event first in BROOKLYN, then LONDON and BERLIN and now we are off to BARCELONA

Convocatoria para presentar. Invisible City Symphonies #4 Barcelona
Cuando: 22 de octubre 2010
Donde: La Cova de les Cultures (Barcelona)
Què: The Explorer Series: Invisible City Symphonies

CITIES IN THE DARK: Cities In The Dark is a London based collective exploring aspects of human dynamism in relation to lo-fi interfaces between humans and their technological environment. Predominantly involving bicycles, electronics, video and DIY engineering, our journey has taken us from our beginnings in mid 2008 organizing urban power cut events in the East end of London through to gallery installations and bike races in Uganda.
